Sleeves to stimulate the senses

10 June 2010

Sleever International has developed a tactile varnish offering a 3D effect intended ‘to stimulate the consumer’s senses’.

Produced by the company’s Helioflex printing process, the Skinsleever finish can feature up to 14 colours. The 3D effect is obtained by a special outer varnish said to ‘enhance and boost the printing volume’. The process is compatible with all types of films.

According to Sleever, the operation is carried out with such precision that the resulting finish is ‘superlatively subtle’.

The first Skinsleever application is Cricket lighters, for the Swedish Match group. Five series of eight visuals on a variety of themes were produced by Alpha Centauri Design. The 3D effect makes it possible to boost the volume of visuals - for example, plumped up lips - while incorporating a striking, shiny and glittery finish.
