Sirane to launch compostable polymer

31 May 2007

Materials specialist Sirane is to launch a new compostable polymer for the food packaging market.

Resolve has been three years in development and will be used in insert trays for meat packaging. Resolve is being trialed by major supermarket retailers and will appear shortly in shops, the company says.

The company is also preparing production for a film and work on a next-generation Resolve with longer shelf life is underway and likely to be available by the end of the year.

Telford-based Sirane, which employs 90 people and has grown to a £7million-plus business in four years, is part of the Polymer Cluster, a European-funded development programme for the plastics and rubber industries in the West Midlands.
