Simpson Label changes name

23 April 2008

Part of the Netherlands based NSD group since 1976, Simpson Label Co will now trade as NSD International, and the Dalkeith, Scotland, facility becomes the group’s centre of excellence for digital label printing and full colour UV flexo combination printing including UV screen with in-line foiling and embossing.

Simpson Label was a pioneer in the development of digital label printing in the UK in the late 1990s. “However,” explains NSD’s group supply chain director David Hedley, “with a pan-European spread of factories in UK, Czech Republic, Romania and The Netherlands, all with specialisations, and sales teams throughout Europe, we have now created an extensive market for our technologies and print expertise which must be served by a company with a truly international brand and persona.”

NSD International managing director Sander Van Ochten adds: “The Dalkeith site will be key to future growth and success of our business. Although our digital skills are primarily concentrated in the UK, it is essential that we are also able to maintain our unique position as both a digital and conventional label printer for our growing international client base.”

Looking to the future, he says UK clients will not be affected by the name change other than to find that they have access to a much more extensive range of print skills and capabilities from NSD - from on-pack labels through to booklets and leaflets labeling. At the same time, the Edinburgh operation will also be providing a special service for customers throughout the world.
