Simpele the better

29 March 2006

M-real’s says the €60M investment project at its Simpele board mill is progressing according to schedule. The work includes various technical improvements in the board machine and finishing, as well as a completely new sheeting department and a reel warehouse. All construction work was due to be completed by the end of March, 2006.

The rebuild will improve the quality of Simwhite and Simcote boards, resulting in better yield through lightweighting and enhancements to visual appearance, smoothness and consistency. The Simpele board mill will have the latest winding and packaging technology, a state-of-the-art cutter reel store, increased board production capacity of 215,000t/year and sheeting capacity which will enable the mill to offer an express sheeting service.
