Simec to show sleeve innovations

11 March 2009

At Converflex (March 24-28), Simec will present its Starlox Gold anilox sleeves with a new structure said to assure high levels of stability and resistance for high speed printing - and guaranteed to be capable of refurbishment up to three times.

Also new will be Starlox Gold Extra Light rolls with a 60 per cent weight reduction yet said to ensure the same performance as traditional steel rolls. They are already used in the label industry, in a pre-launch stage in for flexible packaging, and at an advanced testing stage in the corrugated industry at up to 3,500 mm facelength.

Other innovations to be shown by the company are Profil Multi Purpose, a new vertical cleaning system for anilox sleeves; and the new cell configurations of the Leonardo laser engraving series.

Emilio Della Torre, managing director of Simec, says this Converflex “will us to establish a new starting point and demonstrate the best sleeve technology. Thanks to co-operation with some technical partners, we are now able to assure accurate control of the production process, particularly of assembly of the different components, in our own production plant.”

The company will be at Converflex on stand D35, in Pavilion 10.
