Sheeter sales sustained

27 September 2002

Valmet Converting continues to chalk up sales successes with its TSK twin synchronous knife sheeter. The TSK's capabilities range from lightweight papers to heavy boards, with guaranteed sheet length accuracy of within 0.20in.

Spicers Paper, in the USA, recently commissioned a second TSK as a key part of expansion plans for its Seattle and Kansas City operations. The model selected by Spicers has a maximum web width of 1,450mm, a sheet length cut-off range of 400-1,500mm and a top speed of 300m/min.

Since the introduction of the TSK at CMM in 2001, 11 machines have been sold, including five into North America.

In Europe, Danish manufacturer of frozen fish shipping boxes Peterson Beck has also ordered a TSK. To be installed in-line with a two colour flexo press, it will include shaftless unwind stands, a flying splicer and continuous running, zero reject pallet changing.

Another Valmet sheeter, the CTS, is going to Belgium's Alupa group, together with a purpose built rewinder. Both machines will be used to convert high quality metallized paper. The sheeter will incorporate four shaftless unwind stands.
