Sheeter for magnetized laminates

1 August 2008

Maxson has introduced the SDFK sheeter for speciality converters of magnetized PP or PVC laminates. Available in various widths up to 1,651 mm, the machine can run at speeds of up to 90 m/min either in line with a laminating operation or off line sheeting roll stock.

Fitted with a dual-knife rotary cutter that can produce lengths as short as 254 mm, the sheeter will also cut to registration marks on preprinted material. The cutting section is said to provide clean, “crumb-free” edges on product up to 0.060 in thick.

With non-ferrous surfaces to overcome run ability problems on magnetic materials, the SDFK slits, cuts, conveys and stacks sheets up to 1,016 mm long. The drive system is said to maintain +0.38 mm cut-off accuracy on key pad inputted size changes, requiring only one operator to convert a roll to finished sheet size quickly and productively compared to drop shear alternatives.
