Shaft extraction with a difference

18 August 2005

Svecom's sole UK distributor Jarshire has supplied an unusual shaft extracting lifting trolley to Moy Isover, a glasswool insulation and non woven tissue manufacturer based in County Tipperary, Ireland.

Manufactured to order by Svecom, the trolley is both self propelled and self powered. Able to handle 3m shafts with a diameter of 252mm weighing 100 kg, it comprises a base frame mounted on wheels, an electro-hydraulic pump and a piston that drives a vertical carriage which, in turn, supports a hydraulically powered vice in which the shaft is clamped.

Power is provided by a high capacity battery said to maintain optimum efficiency even in extended use.
