Sappi

12 August 2008

Continued overcapacity in the European coated fine paper market has forced Sappi to consider cessation of production at its Blackburn, UK, mill and on its paper machine no 5 at Maastricht, in The Netherlands. This would reduce its Graphic coated fine paper capacity by 190,000 t. The company says customers would be offered comparable products and services from its other sites in Europe, and no supply interruption would be anticipated.
