Safe sheep dip solution

24 June 2002

A safe and easy to use packaging system for sheep dip is available to farmers in the UK and Ireland now that the Coopers Ectoforce Sheep Dip closed transfer system has received licence approval.

Developed by water soluble delivery system specialist Aquasol for Schering-Plough Animal Health, it enables the operator to simply add the packaged product to the dip, without the need to come into contact with the concentrate.

Manufactured by Salindes, France, based Iris, it comprises a water soluble 100ml sachet, packed inside an outer translucent bag that can be handled safely by dip operators wearing the statutory protective clothing. The operator simply selects the number of sachets required, opens the outer bag of each using a tear strip and drops the inner sachet into the dip bath containing a known amount of water. The sachet then dissolves to release the dip concentrate.
