Russians return to Venus

17 February 2009

A second Soma slitter rewinder has been installed by Moscow based AT Design. The Czech built Venus II model will be used to convert BOPP, PE, and paper, including thermal and metallised stocks as well as specialised substrates.

“There are a number of reasons we opted for a second Soma slitter,” says production manager Kanyachin Alexander. ”We were impressed by the reliability and slit quality of our first machine, and the excellent quality of the equipment means it retains its value over the long haul. With this second machine we are looking to increase production and stop the need to pass on job orders to other suppliers due to lack of capacity or not being able to meet customer demands”.

The Venus II is a high performance, servo driven machine said to feature the latest mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and computer control systems.
