Roll slitter success

7 January 2009

UK manufacturer ALS reports a flurry of orders for the Sibtec high specification, high speed automatic log slitters at the end of 2008. “Customers are now taking advantage of the shift in exchange rates to purchase top of the range machines which produce a much greater yield,” the company says.

The Sibtec’s automatic setting is said to offer considerable savings in both man hours and waste. A UK coating company is now reporting savings in raw materials, adhesives and energy, as fewer logs are required to produce the same quantity of slit rolls. Two 600 Sibtec 24 in diameter machines are currently being shipped to the US for slitting foams, tapes and other technical products.
