Roll changing made easier

9 June 2008

At drupa 2008, Martin Automatic introduced the LRH automatic transfer rewind, a non-stop roll changer said to be ideal for mid-web printing, laminating and converting. It provides continuous, roll to roll productivity for a wide range of applications and materials, from film to paper and paperboard.

The LRH winds, automatically changes and automatically unloads full rolls. The only operator task is to load cores. The cantilevered spindle design eliminates the need to handle heavy coreshafts, and a rigid outboard support system negates spindle deflection.

Unlike conventional turret winders, the rewind spindles of the LRH traverse horizontally. This is claimed to minimise roll travel, as well as the tension upsets and web shifting associated with turret rotation.

It is offered in standard widths to 813 mm and diameters to 1,830 mm. Wider widths and specially engineered features are available.
