Roland cuts out Xeikon

10 February 2004

MAN Roland has removed the DICOpress and DICOpack, Xeikon OEM products, from its product range and is leaving the toner based digital printing business. The company's digital systems business unit will now focus on its DICOweb digital offset press.

Roland says it is taking advantage of industry trends towards smaller production runs at increased quality, lower costs, and improved performance. The DICOweb offers a completely integrated workflow from prepress and printing to the mailroom. And, despite the print being produced digitally, it still remains an offset press.

In contrast, the Xeikon OEM products are toner based systems and not part of Roland's core business.
