BioPeel is a new clear peelable PLA lidding or flow wrap film for biodegradable applications. Available from Rockwell Solutions, the film is said to be suitable for use in chilled and frozen conditions, for fruit, vegetables, salads and sandwich packaging applications. It has a broad sealing window, excellent clarity, is available with antifog and can be perforated, the company states.
The BioPeel film can be tailored to seal and peel to any type of container, and Rockwell says it wll allow produce packers to start using peelable biodegradable film immediately.
Rockwell Solutions uses is own heatseal technology and believes it may have “the world’s first truly compostable peelable lidding film for PLA trays”. The company also offers PLA based heatsealable flowwrap material.
