Retrofit to revive narrow web presses

8 December 2011

A ‘plug and play’ retrofit module to revitalise older narrow web presses that are without a corona treatment system is now available from Vetaphone. The “simple and compact” module can be mounted inline, “taking up virtually no space at all and requiring only a few cables and an ozone extraction hose”, the company states.

Marketing director at Vetaphone Jan Eisby elaborates: “We succeeded in fitting everything in one compact module. Even the generator, which is usually placed elsewhere, is seamlessly integrated. It was quite a challenge at first, but we believe the potential is substantial and worth the effort.

The new retrofit module comes with the company’s Quick Change cartridge that allows lightning quick and easy cleaning of the electrodes – and makes it possible to print on materials of various thicknesses.

Vetaphone says the module can be designed to fit almost any narrow web press. Versions are already available for Nilpeter’s FA 2400, FA 2500, FA 3000 and FA 3300 models.
