As of July 1, 2012, the business units of Reifenhäuser Extrusion have been divided into two independent companies, “to enable them to better meet the different requirements of the markets”.
The activities of the former Extrusion Center business unit have been spun off into Reifenhäuser Extrusion Technology. This new company specialises in the development and manufacture of extruders and WPC lines. It is headed by Dr Ing Tim C Pohl.
The product segments of the Cast Film business unit will remain within Reifenhäuser Extrusion, which is now renamed Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating. This company is concentrating on the development and manufacture of cast film lines, polishing stack systems, coating lines, dies, winders, and Reifenhäuser Quality Service. Dr Ing Jochen Hennes will continue to lead the business.
Both companies remain located at Troisdorf, the headquarters of the €400 million turnover Reifenhäuser group, which now comprises seven subsidiaries in Germany specialising in plastics extrusion technology and extrusion components.
