Raflatac's Russian decade

25 June 2004

Raflatac celebrates 10 years of operation in Russia this year - a decade in which the country has developed into one of Europe's largest pressure sensitive label markets.

"Together with favourable political and economic conditions, Raflatac has played an important role in this success story," asserts Thomas Rohweder, senior vp for Raflatac Europe. "Our Russian representation has been helping Russian printing companies to attain the high level of professionalism that they are demonstrating today. Strong background support will be even more important in the future as demand for filmic and special products grows," he stresses.

"During these 10 years, the range of end use areas for PSA labels in Russia has expanded substantially," adds Dmitry Strechin, Raflatac's senior representative, reel and merchant business in Russia and Kazakhstan. "Important end use areas include the food and drink and technochemical industries, as well as cosmetics. Information labelling and thermal labels have also had their fair share of growth. We see great possibilities in the rapidly developing Russian labelstock market."
