The one metre wide, eight-colour VisionG flexo press from PCMC aims to provide “quick and safe tool-free change-over (in less than 60 minutes), waste elimination and energy efficiency”. The VisionG is CE certified and calibrated to the metric system, and offers a compact footprint. It comes with PCMC’s PrintReady and patented extreme drying technologies. The PrintReady is said to reduce set-up time and cut waste material during set-up. It is said to work with any of the print register systems available.
The eXtreme drying technology uses electrically heated compressed air from a dedicated compressor, so there is no need for a gas train, gas burners, blowers or recirculation loop.
“The dryer has better heat transfer capability than conventional systems due to the high velocity at which the air is applied to the web,” says PCMC. Its nozzle speed is 1.4 bar (20psi) at 20,000 m/min. This high velocity is said to result in more effective drying of the inks.
The compressor controls the air supply by reducing moisture levels compared with the outside air, which reduces dewpoint levels for better drying. “The result is a more constant, efficient and moisture controlled dryer system,” the company adds.
