Uteco Converting has sold one of its latest wide web, quick change, flexo presses to a major Italian converter. It will be delivered by the end of this year and is the second of its type for this customer.
With a print width of 1,600mm and maximum repeat of 1,500mm, the press will be used to convert plastics substrates and laminates. It features a CNC automatic positioning and printing pressure adjustment system on all decks; a fully automatic unwinder and rewinder for reels of 1,000mm diameter; and an automatic washing system for anilox rollers and chamber doctor blades.
There is also a patented automatic change system for the plate cylinders and anilox rollers, which are stored on a carousel. All handling of the rollers is automatic.
