Quality labels from ‘competitively priced’ laser cutter

11 January 2012

Spartanics promises a “highly competitive price" for its L-350 high speed laser cutting machine with a single laser head design that enables high quality cuts with a 210 micron spot size in a 350mm cutting field at speeds up to 80m/min.

The US manufacturer says the L-350 automates optimization of web speed, eliminates quality issues in many applications that require stitching cuts from two laser sources, enables job changeovers on-the-fly - and has the most operator-friendly technology. Machine options include UV coating stations, lamination, slitting and sheeting. “Superior cut quality” is promised with materials such as polyester, polycarbonate, polypropylene, metallized and paper.

Spartanics VP Mike Bacon comments: “The L-350 has not cut any corners on the software engineering or any other product features that impact cut quality, speed or system durability. We expect it to quickly become our top-selling laser cutting model because the combination of price and quality can’t be beat.”
