QuadTech to acquire Vigitek

13 May 2008

Irish manufacturer of 100 per cent print inspection technology Vigitek is to be acquired by US company QuadTech for an undisclosed sum. The move will bring together QuadTech’s advanced register guidance system with Vigitek’s state of the art print defect detection technology. Vigitek will operate as a subsidiary of QuadTech.

Vigitek, based in Limerick, Ireland, pioneered the technology that inspects 100 per cent of the web 100 per cent of the time. Its systems are fully compatible with all types of print processes in all types of configurations – roll-to-roll, roll-to-sheet and sheet-to-sheet.

Vigitek’s print inspection systems complement QuadTech’s Autotron Packaging 2600 colour-to-colour registration technology.

Both companies will be exhibiting at drupa 2008: QuadTech in hall 17, stand 17B40, and Vigitek in hall 3, stand 3D44.
