18 June 2004

Dutch supplier of colour register and quality control equipment for web offset presses QI Press Controls has entered one of the world's major graphics growth markets - India. QI Press Controls India,inAhmedabad, is under the management of Vijay Pandya.

He comments: "The management of QI in The Netherlands, recognized the growth and the significance of the Indian printing market and had been looking for some time for people with the expertise to set up their own office and service organization in India. Rakesh Dave, as technical manager, will be responsible for installation and service on the premises of our Indian customers. We have both undergone thorough training at the head office."

The new company will introduce a wide range of quality control equipment for the Indian market in rotary web offset presses for labels and packaging, newspapers, magazines, and brochures. It will include the IDS intelligent density system, launched at drupa 2004. This automatically adjusts the full colour quality of the image to match the colour of the digital original or the approved print, without using auxiliary marks or reference dots - regardless of press type or location. IDS is said to maintain colour stability, balanced fully automatically throughout the production run.

All QI systems use heavy duty CCD cameras said to require very little maintenance.
