The Institute of Packaging has acquired Qualifications and Curriculum Authority status from the British Government as a full educational qualifications awarding body. IOP graduates will now benefit from new qualifications and status in the UK and worldwide. In addition, the institute will be able to promote its qualifications through many more educational centres and study locations.
QCA acceptance also has major organizational implications for the IOP as a provider of specialist packaging knowledge and skills. A completely independent functional operation is to be set up to organize and administer its qualifications. Organization and delivery of courses will be a function of a new delivery arm of the institute.
