Proofing update offers packaging capability

23 August 2011

The Proofstream soft-proofing product is now viable for the packaging industry, according to Nustream Europe.

Version 7.0 includes a new user interface with separations manager, the ability to manage single ‘pages’, and a densitometer interface have all been included with the world of packaging in mind. The inclusion of a workflow connection to Esko/Barco systems makes interfacing the product to one of the leading systems in the packaging world simple and straightforward.

Colin Taylor, development manager of Nustream Europe, affirms: “We have been consulting with companies in the packaging world for quite a while and they provided us with a ‘wish list’ of items that they would want to see in Proofstream before it was fully suited to their needs. We have worked hard to add all of these into the new Version 7.0, so we anticipate making contact with many more packaging companies.”

Version 7.0 of Proofstream enables users to control every aspect of their proofing and workflow from one central location. It also features a new and improved correction interface, a separations viewing feature, an ability to view all versions of a page, and an enhanced notes and outline corrections feature.

A new integration facility links directly with the GMG RIP Server and Colour Server products, automatically taking settings from GMG for fast and efficient set-up.

Proofstream interfaces directly to Agfa Apogee, Barco/Esko Graphics products, CGS Normaliser, Fuji XMF, GMG RIP and Color Server, and Screen Trueflow systems. Bespoke connections can also be created to work with other pre-press systems.
