Printpack expands into Poland

17 December 2007

This month sees the start of work on a new flexible packaging converting facility to be built by US based Printpack at Kutno, 150km southwest of Warsaw. Planned to come into operation in early 2009, the plant will supply packaging for consumer goods companies across Europe.

David Read, managing director of Printpack Europe, states: “The Kutno plant will be equipped with an extensive range of modern converting technology. We will be able to serve more market segments since our capabilities will be broader than what we have in Europe today.”

“Printpack entered the European market via acquisitions in the UK in 1993,” states Jimmy Love, Printpack’s vp international business. “Building a plant in Kutno is a key step in our strategy to expand our business in Europe. Kutno is centrally located in Europe, giving us access to a larger array of customers than we serve today from our UK operations.”

Printpack is a privately held manufacturer of flexible and speciality rigid packaging with headquarters in Atlanta, 4,500 employees and 26 manufacturing facilities in the US, Mexico and the UK.
