The new software version 12 of Rexroth's IndraMotion for Printing open system adds a number of functions that allow users to program even complex automation applications with the PLC in accordance with IEC 61131-3. Multi-Ethernet interfaces on controls and drives are said to reduce the costs for the OEM having to adapt their solutions to customer requirements.
Users can implement all PLC and motion control programming tasks, including synchronized drive movements and process controllers, in the IEC 61131-3 programming languages. An interface allows more efficient management of engineering work and reduces the amount involved in made-to-order modular machines, it is claimed.
IndraMotion for Printing alsocontains numerous technology functions that are typical in the printing and converting industry, such as winding control, format-length correction or print mark registration. In addition, the patented FlexProfile facility enables machine manufacturers to fulfill customers' requests for higher flexibility and product or format changeovers “at the press of a button”.
