Printhead advance

17 June 2008

Tonejet is developing a new printhead to make its digital printhead technology more readily available to sheet-fed and web based printers. Due to be commercially available in 2009, the new head has been designed to maintain the key benefits of existing the company’s products, including single pass, high quality capabilities at industrial production speeds and “competitive costs”.

The programme follows Tonejet¹s development of “the industry¹s widest integrated digital printhead” - launched in November 2007 - which is said to have already been proven to enable a significant sector of food and drink packaging to be printed in a single pass, bringing substantial logistics and cost savings.

CEO Ray Southam comments: “We are working with a number of industry partners to ensure that the our print technology is configured in a way which will deliver the best results and the greatest flexibility in industrial applications. Our commitment to creating a smaller sized print engine demonstrates that we are also supporting our partners in markets outside the food and drink packaging sectors.”
