The keynote speaker at the recent IDTechEx Printed Electronics Asia 2008 event in Tokyo, Japan, was Keiichi Utaka, managing director of Toppan Forms, which is working with technology from Kovio, Konarka, Power Paper, SiPix and others. He described the importance of providing a strong interface to consumers while hiding the technology from them.

Hewlett Packard discussed its development of imprint lithography on a roll to roll basis to pattern transistors for display drivers that achieve feature sizes of 100 nm. Asahi Kasei Chemicals featured its novel flexo printing process.
HC Starck has improved its PEDOT-PSS conducting printing ink to give a wider range of compromises in properties as needed for different printing technologies and applications. Hitachi Chemical announced its copper inks that cure at low temperature to maintain solderability.
Printed Electronics Europe 2009 will take place in Dresden, Germany, on April 7-8.
