Huhtamaki has opened a €30M food packaging facility in Siemianowice, Poland, to replace the original plant badly damaged by fire in late 2000. Said to meet the latest standards for quality, hygiene and safety, it employs more than 400 people to manufacture rigid paper and plastics packaging. The company's smaller Polish unit in Chelmek has been relocated to the site.
