Speakers from around the globe will convene at the PISEC '07, the anti counterfeiting forum on brand, product and document protection.
Entitled “Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy through Innovation, Investment & Technology”, the conference takes place in London on November 20-21. It aims to anaylse, discuss and debate the escalating global problems of IP crime and identity theft.
Alongside the two day conference, this year's PISEC includes an ACG sponsored Brand Owners Forum where delegates will be able to compare a range of counterfeit products with genuine counterparts, and discuss issues with experts from companies in a range of sectors, including drinks, clothing, tobacco, motor, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
An exhibition of global technology companies featuring the latest anti counterfeiting and anti-fraud developments and innovations will also be held.
Speaking at the conference is Glyn Roberts, brand protection manager at Pentland, who will speak on the use of security labels in managing counterfeiting.
Michael Ellis, global head of brand protection at Beiersdorf — the manufacturers of Nivea, will discuss the latest brand authentication technology used in packaging and the use of holographic information stored inside labels in his presentation entitled ‘Packaging and technology: a new priority for business to protect brands’.
Another interesting presentation, ‘RFID: Latest in tracking and tracing through packaging innovations’, by Marisa Jimenez, public policy director Europe at EPC Global, will look at the pioneering systems and the need for vision of future co-use of detection points.
