Pilot coating line at Raleigh

22 September 2005

Raleigh Adhesive Coatings has set up a new laboratory coating facility at its Eccleshall, UK, site, to expand the existing contract coating services business. The Werner Mathis coating and laminating line has a 300mm wide web width, with knife-over-roll and Meyer bar coating heads, a two-zone clean air dryer, and clean air booths for the laminator, unwinds and rewinds.

The new line will provide a service for customers to carry out trials. Those ideas that subsequently become genuine business opportunities can then be quickly scaled up to production size runs on the in- house contract coating lines. Trials can be offered for coating paper, film, foils and textiles using water based, solvent based and silicone adhesive coatings, as well as non adhesive coatings. Future upgrades to the new facility will include a hotmelt and slot die coating heads, and a UV curing facility.

Raleigh is exhibiting in the ICE show, in November, on stand 1-U-19, in Hall 1.
