The UK’s Flexible Packaging Association and Packaging and Industrial Films Association are planning to merge. Members of the combined organization would represent over 80 per cent of the market.
Chief executive of PIFA David Tyson says: "The jewel in achieving such a merger is that our associations have very different skills and strengths which, when combined, will result in a far more powerful and focused organization with stronger representation of our members' interests." Martin Unwin, director of the FPA, adds: “We have a great opportunity to create an organization that will better serve the members of both our associations.”
