PCMC SELLS TEN FLEXO PRESSES

23 September 2004

In an unprecedented surge in orders for its equipment Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC) has sold 10 flexo presses worth a total of over $29M. The orders include eight Infiniti 10 colour CI machines, an Evolution in-line press and the recently introduced Vision-G model, which is destined for Peru.

The company is particularly pleased with the sale of one of the Infiniti presses to a new customer in Europe. It is the first placement of an Infiniti press in the continent, a traditional market for PCMC's European based competitors. All the other presses are destined for US customers.

The equipment will be manufactured at company operations in Green Bay, Wisconsin USA. and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Frederick W Baer, president/ceo said: "These sales, coupled with strong orders for modification and upgrade orders in the company's tissue machinery product line, have not only allowed PCMC to defer the lay-off in its Green Bay workforce as announced in June, but also have necessitated the callback of 53 employees from lay off status."

The company demonstrated its latest technology, an Evolution in-line flexo press, at the recent Label Expo Americas Show, Chicago.
