Polish converter Marma Polskie Folie has ordered a 10 colour Infiniti gearless flexo press from PCMC. It is believed to be the first 10 colour gearless CI flexo machine to be installed in Poland.
The press will have a 1,270mm maximum web width and a special maximum print repeat of 1,200mm to meet Marma's diverse range of applications, including pouches, sacks and flexible packaging. With a top speed of 450m/min, the machine is said to feature high productivity and fast change-over capabilities.
The Infiniti incorporates a patented print unit deck design, as well as the patented eXtreme drying system. Marma's machine will also incorporate many optional features such as PCMC's Vortex automated washdown system; a Trucolor TG 4000 video web inspection system with colour control/bar code verification and automatic pre-register package; an Enercon corona treater; three operator access platforms; and a rotary slitting package.
Marma Polskie Folie has production plants across Poland, with the flexo plant based in Kanczuga, where the new machine will arrive in early 2005. Current production is mostly aimed at the domestic market, but the company is picking up more orders and interest for the export market. It believes the PCMC press will demonstrate the company's credibility and willingness to compete and offer a superior product to anything currently produced in those markets.
The installation training and support will be implemented through PCMC's European customer support headquarters in Plymouth, Devon, UK with 24 hour modem and telephone support available from both the UK and US headquarters.
