In the US, PCMC has acquired flexo press and envelope converting machinery specialist FL Smithe Machine for an undisclosed sum.
The move makes PCMC a global provider of a complete range of narrow, mid and wide web presses, as well as adding FL Smithe’s envelope converting portfolio to its own products for dry and wet folding applications.
PCMC is a division of the Barry-Wehmiller group, for whom the Smithe acquisition is the 44th since 1987. Another division - Thiele Technologies – recently took over Hudson-Sharp Machinery.
