A new type of compostable film will be launched at the Total Processing and Packaging show next month. PaperfeelECO is said to combine the texture, print quality and deadfolds of paper with the strength and moisture resistance of plastics - and at the end of its shelf life it will just rot away. Paperfeel says the film will degrade in an industrial composter in 90 days. It fulfils the conditions of EN 13432. It can also be coloured using bio based master batches. It can be converted as usual, although additional care is required in storage.
