In the USA, Pamarco Global Graphics has installed a Unicoat Triplex plasma coating system in its Atlanta anilox roll manufacturing facility. It is the company’s second Triplex installation: the first system has been running successfully in the Batavia, Illinois, facility for over two years. The Triplex system is claimed to be unique in that it introduces the chrome oxide powder from three sources, making the coating denser and harder than conventional plasma systems. The system is totally integrated and numerically controlled to ensure an “unsurpassed level of consistency of ceramic coating which ultimately results in a better, more consistent engraving”.
