Europackaging is the first company in in Europe to offer blown film bags made from NatureWorks PLA. The UK based packaging manufacturer and distributor has introduced a range of products to help retailers capitalise on growing consumer demand for nature-based packaging.
Made from Cargill Dow's NatureWorks PLA – the first commercially viable material derived from an annually renewable resource (corn) – the product lines include general merchandise carrier bags, luxury shopping bags, and bakery film front bags.
"The idea of clear packaging made from corn is a simple, yet striking concept that truly appeals to consumers," says Europackaging R&D director Adam Dickinson. "People believe products inside a natural package are more appealing – a perception that creates significant value for retailers by increasing interest and brand awareness," adds Bob Springs, managing director Europe, Cargill Dow.
