Opaque white inks are suited to rotary screen

8 September 2014

Zeller+Gmelin has launched two new opaque white inks in its Optiscreen range for rotary screen printing. Both are compatible with the popular screens of Stork, Screeny and Kocher+Beck.

The new SR-X55004 and SR-X55400 products are said to comply with all current requirements for raw materials used. Both are silicone-free formulations, providing for preprinting with opaque white and overprinting with other colour shades as well as combining with print finishes such as hotfoil stamping or printing in thermal transfer processes.

Optiscreen SR-X55004 is an untinted opaque white (without colouring) that is said to allow for higher printing speeds of up to 60m/min. The ink also offers safe curing and good adhesion at these speeds, as well as high rub and scratch resistance on standard substrates.

The variant Optiscreen SR-X55400 variant differs by an additional violet tinting for higher degrees of whiteness, with otherwise identical properties.
