Omega factor fulfils inspection needs

22 October 2012

CV Labels in Irvine, Scotland, has installed a fifth Omega inspection rewinder from AB Graphic International. Equipped with FleyeVision 100% print face inspection, the new Omega HSR and camera will enable the company to handle increased production needs.

Bob Veitch of CV Labels reports: “The new equipment is streamlining our finishing throughput and enabling high end inspection on all our labels. Our core production is for the pharmaceutical and medical markets and without the inspection rewinding equipment from AB Graphic, we would be unable to satisfy the PS9000 standards expected by our customers.

Our operators are more relaxed relying on the speed and accuracy of the camera system for the inspection process. We also have internet access to FleyeVision who are able to handle any issues for us remotely as well as back-up from AB Graphic International in the UK.”

The Omega HSR and FleyeVision camera permits 100% inspection, slitting and is driven by a new, intelligent menu system. When the camera detects a fault, it automatically error places to a secondary splice table. Options available include PDF comparison, barcodes, OCR and Braille inspection. Defects are inspected and re-inspected to ensure 100% error-free webs suitable for pharmaceutical and other applications where high security is essential. Ink jet barcodes, sell by dates and sequential numbering can be applied to the print or back side of the web.
