Off-line production of booklets

16 April 2009

A new version of Prati’s Vega Plus LF330 machine is designed for off-line production of booklet labels. It can be run with web widths of up to 330 mm and is fitted with an unwinder, a motorised reel loader, a slitting unit, a booklet feeder and lamination unit, a die cutting assembly, an Atlantic Zeiser overprinting system and a single rewinder.

The new machine can be used to produce booklet labels of various kinds, for use on flat or round surfaces. It features an OS700 booklet feeder by Longford International, a Nordson EP11 hotmelt unit, a patented lamination unit by GPS and Braillejet’s inkjet printing units from Atlantic Zeiser.

As an off-line platform, the Vega Plus LF330 is said to guarantee faster speeds and higher productivity than in-line printing systems – up to 48 m/min - also faster job changes and a considerable waste reduction. Servomotors ensure precise control of material tension and cutting and rewinding operations, says Prati.
