'Flint Group' has been selected as the new name for the holding company created by last year's merger of XSYS Print Solutions and the American owned Flint Ink Corp.

The group's core ink business supplies a wide range of products and services to the flexo, sheet-fed, heatset and coldset web offset, gravure, energy curable, and speciality printing markets. It is organized into regional units serving Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and the India/Pacific region.

XSYS provides narrow web inks to printers in the tag and label industry worldwide. Flint Group Printing Plates offers specialized photopolymer plates for flexo and letterpress, also solvents and plate processing equipment. Jetrion provides digital inks, equipment, and integration services for on-demand and variable data printing applications throughout the world. Flint Group Pigments & Resins combines operations in North America, Europe, and China to offer dry and flushed pigments, pigment dispersions, resins, chemical additives, coloured chips, and varnishes.

With more than 150 facilities worldwide and a global network of distributors, Flint Group employs nearly 8,000 people. Estimated 2005 revenues are $US 2.7 billion (€2.23 billion). Headquartered in Luxembourg, the new company is jointly owned by the management and CVC funds.
