Nordenia to close Canadian facility

6 July 2006

Due to the on-going restructuring of its North American business, Nordenia is to cease production at its Nordenia Canada Belleville facility on September 30, 2006. A flexo printer and converter of diaper bags for hygiene products, Belleville has a workforce of 80.

Nordenia says many of its North American customers have consolidated in the US, limiting growth opportunities in Canada. “Focusing our efforts on the Nordenia USA division will allow us to serve all of North America from a central location.”

The flexible packaging operation in Jackson, Missouri, company, offers blown film technology, an in-house prepress department with cylinder engraving and colour separation capabilities, eight colour gravure presses, solvent and solventless lamination, converting and R&D.

Nordenial recently announced investment of over €30.3M this business year, as part of the growth strategy decided on with new major stockholder, the fund managed by Oaktree Capital Management.
