Nordenia builds up its US base

4 July 2012

Film and packaging producer Nordenia has opened its new plant at Hubble Creek in the USA. The 17,000m² building, which nearly doubles the US operation’s available production space, is located 16km from the Indian Creek main plant in Missouri and will focus on flexible packaging for the food, pet care and garden markets.

A Totani bag making machine was installed at the beginning of the year, and new production lines and printing presses will follow. The entire investment, which includes the new machine, totals €3.5 million (the building is leased). It is expected to create more than 50 jobs.

As a result, Nordenia now operates two plants in North America. "The expansion of our American site is a central element of our group strategy,” affirms Ralph Landwehr, chairman and CEO of Nordenia International. “In addition to focusing particularly on the growth markets in Asia, it is therefore of great importance to invest in North America.”
