INDEX 05, the world's largest exhibition for the non wovens industry, takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 12-15. Nearly 450 exhibitors representing raw material producers, finishers, converters, environmental protection, measuring and testing equipment manufacturers, and trade associations from 35 countries, will occupy some 21,000m2 of exhibition space.
Product and equipment innovations to be exhibited at the show will range from new adhesive and laminate solutions, to advances in SAP (super absorbent polymer) handling and spun bonded technology, the latest in roller and engraving technology, nanofibres, absorbent fabrics, machinery technology and testing equipment.
INDEX 05 will also host a series of special events including: daily Product Presentations by companies such as Ahlstrom, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Cognex, Dow Chemical, Fibertex, Nordson, Reifenhauser, Rohm & Haas and Tredegar.
In addition the Non Wovens Research Academy will be launched, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and research results and to encourage the development of technical understanding and knowledge that will help to support the growth of the non wovens industry. Future meetings of the academy will rotate each year between centres of non wovens excellence, with a focus on Europe and particular emphasis on the host's area of expertise and current research projects.
The winners of the EDANA Awards will also be announced during the exhibition, and the Global Non Wovens Advisory Board Summit will take place on April 13.
