New Wohlenberg 115 cutter solves production 'bottleneck' at Denny Bros

A 'bottleneck' being caused by the limited productivity of an ageing Polar guillotine has led Denny Bros Ltd to install a Wohlenberg 115 high speed cutter at its Bury St Edmunds print production facility. The new cutter was supplied by UK & Ireland agent, Friedheim International.

According to finishing manager Tony Humphrey the purchase came about as a result of a visit from one of Friedheim's finishing sales specialists. He explains: "We initially looked at part-exchanging for another Polar, but on finding out that Friedheim had a Wohlenberg 115 available we decided to take a look. After a successful demonstration the decision was a straightforward one!"

Founded in 1945, Denny Bros Ltd remains an independent, family-owned printing business and is now one of the world's leading companies in providing innovative labelling solutions. One of these is Fix-a-Form, a multi-page label that occupies the same space as a standard label while providing far more usable space for instructional, legislative, promotional or multi-language information. Denny Bros' labelling solutions are used in a broad range of industries, including healthcare & pharmaceutical, FMCG, agrochemical, informational & promotional.

Says Tony Humphrey: "We have the new Wohlenberg 115 sited in our warehouse where it is being used to cut white sheets to size ready for going on our printing presses. Since its installation the cutter has been hard at work every day, and everything has been fine, right from the initial training of our operators to its daily productivity, so you can safely say that we made a good purchasing decision!"
