In Germany, manufacturer of quality assurance systems BST's acquisition of Betacontrol and P2T Protagon Process Technologies has greatly extended its product range. The acquired companies will now operate under the name BST ProControl.
The former betacontrol provides systems for production optimisation and measurement of flat web material including thickness and grammage. Protagon specialises in measurement and control techniques for paper and coating processes.
In future BST ProControl will serve most BST Group products that involve material control within the production process, including plastics and metal foils, nonwoven substrates, technical cloths, foam material, floor coverings and paper.
"Our products are excellently suited to complement the offering of BST," says Michael Hecht, former CEO of Betacontrol, who has now been named CEO of BST ProControl.
