A new company providing high speed inspection, cutting and rewinding finishing machines for the label industry, RotoControl offers servo drive technology (S-Drive) machines said to assure 100 per cent stable control of the entire web. Multiple options in the RSI line and smaller basic RSC models all enable maximum web control for the most delicate film and foil materials, it is claimed.
Marco Aengenvoort, managing director of the German company, boasts: “With our top model RSI 430, we are certainly at the forefront of the development of label control machines with integrated inspection systems".
The S-Drive is said to offer an electronically synchronised drive system providing operator friendly, complete control of the web at speeds up to 320 m/min. According to RotoControl, it keeps the machine stable even at higher speeds through ramp-up to full stop. Soft wrapping, low maintenance, an easy error analysis program and a user friendly graphical user interface are also promised.
The new company’s RSI slitter rewinder/inspection machines come standard with S-Drive web control, onboard unwind, label/length counting and crush knife slitting. Modular design allows individual tailoring to customer needs or upgrading in the future. Modules currently available include: inspection, shear and razor slitting, die cutting (with or without registration), sheeting, separate unwind, also laminating and printing.
Coupled with RSI high performance automation, the 100 per cent inspection capability is said to provide “unprecedented” quality control. Single-pass pharmaceutical machines allow re-inspection of corrected faults without rewinding, offering reliability for the most complex applications.
