New press to boost capacity

21 January 2011

Systems Labelling began the New Year with a significant investment in a new Mark Andy flexo press. The 17 inch, 8-colour servo-driven machine takes the UK label printer’s total to 10 machines, not one of which is more than six years old.

Managing Director Gwyn Bouch comments: “The new press will significantly increase capacity to meet demand and provide our business with the room to grow. From a product development perspective we will also be able to run thinner gauge materials with PET liner, adding value for our customers by driving down packaging weight and offering a recyclable alternative to traditional glassine liners.”

Coupled with a new inline diecutting facility with turret rewind, the new press will provide an additional 15% capacity producing a minimum of 25 million m/year.
